What is offset printing
80% from all printed material is made by offset printing. Remaining 20% is made by digital printing and other technologies. Will you believe, if we say, that offset printing is invented by German playwright and actor? That are a banana-like news.
Johans Aloizs Zenfelders ??? had written many plays. He was a good and talented man, but his life was darkened by printing house costs. Many plays waited to be printed, but…
Zenfelder was spiteful and did not lament. He intended to print his plays by himself, therefore tried to use everything he had. Printing became his passion.
When he was 25 years old, he had a moment of good luck. He handed his washing to the laundry, and the receiver had no nib and paper to put down the order. Playwright found what to do – he wrote everything on a flat limestone with oil-paint. Later he cleaned the stone and noticed, that color sticked to places, where the writing was, and did not stick on the other places.
These was the first printing-presses of Zenfelder.
That way offset printing was invented. Image is pressed on paper using a special cylinder.
Using offset printing one can make any product of holography. It is easier to list what cannot be made:
- Print on colored paper using white color;
- Print on bananas;
- Print on foils, metallic and synthetic paper;
- Use foil and UV varnish.
Offset printing is the most popular way to make polygraphic products of good quality. The same way banana is the most popular fruit in the world.
